1 Question from Dr. Suhana Is it possible if the petiole extracts and fruits extract are mixed together and what do you expect the result of antimicrobial testing from the mixed extracts?
Answer from presenter Thank you for your question Dr. Yes, it is possible to combine the two extracts. Since both extracts showed inhibitory activity against both bacteria, we hypothesize that the combined treatment could have better inhibitory effect.
2 Question from Ms. Gunavathy Selvarajh May I know why the researcher choose Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus for this study?
Answer from presenter Thank you for your question Ms. Those bacteria types was chosen because they are among the most common pathogenic organisms that cause of illness and deaths of humans. Apart from that Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus are drug resistant and the drugs used for the treatment have shown toxicity effect in human. Hence it important to search for an effective and safe natural antimicrobial compounds from plants with higher therapeutics and fewer/no side effect to treat diseases.
